Beginning in 1985, Steve Patmont, his wife Hannelore, and two sons Gabe and Tim launched Patmont Motor Werks, creators of the Go-Ped Brand of original folding motorized scooters. They began by building Go-Peds in their Pleasanton California garage for friends and family that just had to have one and it blossomed from there. Knowing the market opportunities were endless for their fun and safe, carefree design, the Patmont family secured a patent and began shopping their invention around to purveyors of yachts and personal aircraft as a light and portable alternative transportation device to extend transportation choices for various commuting and recreation uses.

Go Ped scooters are made by Patmont Motor Werks. The Go-Ped products can be made in the US for short distance commuters everywhere.

The Go-Ped Riot Off Road Scooter Inspired and bred from the ultra popular and best-selling Go-Ped Trail Ripper GTR46R, the new Go-Ped Riot fulfills demand from pit bike riders for a premium quality, super compact and lightweight, yet low cost off-road bike. Weighing at only 48 pounds, it has been designed to provide maximum fun in a hassle free package which can be carried just about anywhere.
Using the patented Trail Ripper adjustable suspension system in the front and rear, it offers riders great off-roading capabilities with 6 inches of travel on each end. Powered by the powerful Go-Ped GP460RS engine geared at 6:98, the rugged and highly reliable Riot gives excellent bottom end and a stock top speed of 30mph. The centrifugal clutch provides for a very user friendly yet thrills-packed ride.
