Motorized Scooter

My motorized scooter has changed my definition of travel. It's great for getting the kids to soccer games.

Motorized Scooters

Motorized gas scooters were first made in Germany. Gas Scooters became available shortly after motorcycles. Motorized gas scooters featured:

  • a covered engine compartment to avoid contact with hot engine parts, which is a common concern for motorcyclists.
  • a front legshield, meant to protect the rider from mud, water and road debris that might drift up from the road below.
  • a step-thru design so ladies could wear dresses without compromising their modesty,
  • a seat that allows the rider to sit on the seat much like a chair, instead of straddling the vehicle, as is common on motorcycles
  • smaller wheels that give faster turning response
  • Wheels mounted on one side only to make removal extremely easy
  • underseat storage for one or more helmets

Motorized gas scooterers are easier to learn to ride than many motorcycles. A safe rider wears a helmet and should wear the proper clothing / pads including:

  • Helmet
  • Elbow Pads
  • Knee Pads
  • Wrist Guards
  • Gloves
  • Shoes

Being seen is very important. Brightly colored, reflective helmets and clothing help make scooter rider more noticeable.
