Vespa Scooter

The Vespa scooter is the considered to be "The Scooter". The Vespa scooter began as a low cost utilitarian scooter in 1946 by a transporation company in Italy called Piaggio. The Vespa shape and style was created by an aeroplane and helicopter engineer.

The Vespa has been featured in many famous movies including:

• Roman Holiday (1952)
  featuring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn riding a Vespa scooter around the Colosseum
• La Dolce Vita ( ) featuring Anita Ekberg escaping the paparazzi on a Vespa scooter in Fellini's masterplece

The Vespa has never passed out of fashion. The Vespa, initially presented in the 40's and 50's as solid (it is still made of metal), long lasting and adventurous. In the 60's it was transformed into anti-conformism transportation with real performance. In the '70s and '80s it turned into an object of nostalgia.
